Family Birth Center

At Wilson, we know that having a baby is one of the most joyous and exciting times in the lives of parents. That's why we take such pride in making each experience at our Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center a memorable and wonderful occasion.

Amenities

The center features 10 birthing suites, four recovery and postpartum rooms for moms who have had a caesarean section, and three observation rooms. The spacious birthing suites all have private restrooms, and feature large, walk-in showers. One of the birthing suites even features a whirlpool tub. The surgery/C-section area is convenient to the nursery and the postpartum rooms.

As patients or visitors enter the new center, a donor wall is displayed, featuring a waterfall next to the beautifully decorated family waiting area. In this area, there is a gift shop, packed full of baby goodies. The center is secured for newborns' protection and a glass door partitions the waiting area from the rest of the center. A buzzer announces guests, and the greeter, available 24-hours a day, allows visitors entrance.

The rooms are warm and spacious, each with its own window to let the sunshine in. Each has a large burl grained armoire with ample room for clothing and of course a TV and DVD player. The wall-coverings are either wheat or sage and the fabrics are wheat, sage, rose and burgundy. Each room has a framed print of a mother and child that slides over the oxygen panel and other equipment that may be needed during delivery. A convertible love seat awaits an overnight guest and a comfortable wood rocking chair giving baby a smooth ride while mom, dad, a sibling or a grandparent is feeding or holding their new family member.

Technology

The nursing station is large and spacious with a central fetal monitoring system, allowing clinicians the opportunity to view all monitors in the center at once to keep a good watch on each patient. Portable fetal monitors are in cherry wood casings and can be rolled into the birthing suites when needed. The system is also available in the doctors' lounge and each doctor's office.
