Radiology / Imaging
Radiology and Imaging are terms for X-rays, mammograms and other diagnostic tests that doctors request to help make a more accurate diagnosis. At Wilson, we use a variety of imaging technologies to help us obtain detailed views of our patients internal anatomies, to minimize the need for invasive diagnostic surgery.
Wilson's Radiology Department gained additional size and patient amenities, as well as added technological capabilities after an extensive remodeling in 2005. The department is home to such testing services as X-ray, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography Scanning (CT), Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.
The Radiology Department at Wilson is staffed with highly trained radiology personnel and several Board Certified Radiologists, who are trained to read in specific, diagnostic areas. All images taken at Wilson Memorial Hospital are stored on our state-of-the-art Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), which allows physicians to view the images on a computer and send and receive images with other physicians for consultation purposes.
